Anna’s inspiration for her career came from caring for her family, specifically her parents and her husband’s grandfather who had dementia. The knowledge she gained allowed her to give the best possible care to her family. She believes there is no greater reward or higher calling than to care for those who once cared for you.
Katy Fredette is a dedicated, and compassionate person. She began in the health care field over 30 years ago starting out as a licensed nursing assistant and going step by step until she reached her Registered nursing role.
During that time, she has practiced in various positions. They have varied from gerontology, medical oncology, hospice, high tech homecare, homecare manager for PACE Vermont (Program of all-inclusive care).
Over the years she has had trainings in CPR/BLS, defibrillator training, Dementia care, telemetry, depression, restraint techniques, pain management, critical incident stress management, and diabetes.
The last few years through and since our Covid pandemic she has experienced firsthand working with patients on secure and secluded units in the hospital where people are isolated, lonely, depressed and scared. It has been very difficult for all to come back into a very different world even after covid has settled down. There is much more need for community and collaboration. She was brought up locally in Proctor and is one of 10 kids.
She has been married to her husband Rick for the past 29 years and has raised their 4 adult children and now is enjoying the next generation and is actively involved with her 4 grandchildren. In addition to the mix, she has two cats and two dogs. On any given day one can find her planting/weeding her flower and vegetable gardens and going on hikes in the woods. On a nice summer day the water is her friend in the pool or going to the ocean. She is always looking forward to the next traveling adventure and just
about any outside activity.
More than these things what gives her the most enjoyment is being able to help anyone in need. She is always just a call away. She believes in service to others, caring, teamwork and integrity. She hopes\ to bring some light back into peoples world especially those not able to access it.
